[4] Skating Hippos, at the Bilderdam bridge, near house number 21, on the Drecht, Bilderdam. Artist: Mrs. Miep Schölvinck-Maarse, date of placement: 24-03-2001.
Animals play a major role in Miep Maarse's sculptures. She knows how to exploit the light-footed gravity and tenderness of the powerhouses (such as hippos, elephants and bears) in a skillful and original way. She spirited her animals with unstoppable optimism and cheerfulness. Her animals do not become people but are given recognisable human features. The statue was commissioned by the municipality of Jacobswoude. The bronze statues were stolen in June 2013. The new work, which is also made of bronze, is equipped with an anti-theft attachment to prevent a second theft. After the theft in June 2013, Hans Brand, bridge keeper of the bridge in Bilderdam, set up a petition. With a letter, signed by dozens of residents, they convinced the municipal council to invest in a new version of the skating hippos. The municipality made €4,400 available for the costs of materials. They were unveiled again on 30 August 2014. Source: biography Miep Maarse, schaatshistorie.nl.
[5] Man with Umbrella. Next to the Holy Spirit Mill, visible from Herenweg (in front of number 2), between Leimuiden and Rijnsaterwoude. Artist: Jeroen Henneman. The statue symbolizes the connection between people and their environment. The umbrella stands for both protection and an invitation to reflection.
[6] Priest Hendrik, Herenweg 26 (Domplein, in front of the Woudse Dom), Rijnsaterwoude. Artist: Carsten Eggers, date of placement: 08-09-2001.
Priest Hendrik was a pastor in Jacobswoude and an expert in the field of land reclamation at the time of the Great Reclamation between 1000 and 1300 in the Holland/Utrecht peat area. In 1113 Hendrik left with a group of five Hollanders to the area that later became known as Altes Land, an area between Hamburg and Bremen. Here they were going to reclaim the wastelands in the peat bogs at the mouth of the Elbe by means of dikes. For this reclamation the Holland priest closed a coupe with the archbishop for the reclaimers. It was the first land reclamation elsewhere that took place in the Dutch way. The landscape layout of Altes Land shows a striking resemblance to the peat meadow areas in the Holland-Utrecht lowlands. A statue of priest Hendrik was made by the German sculptor Carsten Eggers on the initiative of the historian prof. Henk van der Linden. It was placed in 1993 in front of the Evangelical Lutheran St. Martini-et-Nicolai-Kirche in Steinkirchen, Germany. A copy of this statue has stood on the square in front of the Woudse Dom in Rijnsaterwoude since 2001.

Gerard Brouwer made several statues with skaters, recognizable and with both feet on the ground, as he called it himself. The people of Hoogmade chose this statue in 1996 because skating and Hoogmade form a duality. For example, almost everyone in Hoogmade is a member of the Hoogmade Ice Club. It has become a custom that the three skaters are dressed in winter clothing such as scarves and hats by the people of Hoogmade

[21] Atelier StephArts, Hoogmadeseweg 1, Rijpwetering.
Stephanie van der Beek once started with acrylic painting on canvas but during the past years she has taught herself the relatively unknown technique "alcohol ink".
