The Polder Tour

Every year, on the first Sunday of September, a unique walking tour takes place: the Kaag en Braassem Polder Tour. This is a once-in-a-lifetime walk, as it features a different starting location every year and also passes by places normally inaccessible to the public. Consequently, participants are surprised with a new experience every time they take part. As the name suggests, the routes run straight through the polder.

This edition takes walkers to Rijpwetering, and it promises to be another unique experience. The organizing ice clubs (Alkemade, Hoogmade, Nut & Vermaak, Willem Barendsz, De Eendracht, Rijpwetering) and Rotary Roelofarendsveen have mapped out three routes of 6, 13, and 18 km. There is therefore a suitable distance for every walker. Along the route, walkers are treated to beautiful vistas and pleasant checkpoints. The Poldertocht is closely linked to charity; every year, a large portion of the proceeds goes to the Liliane Fund. Additionally, the proceeds from the catering benefit the ice clubs. To contribute to the charity, you can register for the Poldertocht, but if you wish to do even more, you can also sign up as a sponsor.

Pre-registration for this edition opens on Saturday, June 13, 2026, via www.poldertocht.com. The organization expects a great deal of interest once again and therefore advises interested parties not to wait too long to register.
