National Windmill Day Kaag & Braassem

The second weekend in May, the annual National Windmill Day will take place. On this day the millers of Kaag & Braassem open the doors of their mills. You’re more than welcome to visit the mills. The millers will tell you all about their mills and what’s involved with working at mills.

Breakfast with the Miller

National Windmill Day in Kaag & Braassem starts with breakfast at the Googermolen in Roelofarendsveen/Oude Wetering. During breakfast, multiple millers are present. You’ll have the opportunity to ask them questions and to know all about the iconic and monumental mills in the Kaag & Braassem landscape. Registration is mandatory and will cost € 6,00 and the profit will go to the Rijnlandse Mill foundation.

→ Tickets for cycling tour with guide in Dutch (you will visit seven windmills)

→ Tickets for boat tour to mills from Abbenes (you will visit two windmills)

→ Tickets for boat tour to mills from Rijpwetering(you will visit two windmills)

You can also visit the open windmills at your own occasion. For May 9^th, we highly recommend to cycle the route  Mills and more, which you can start form the Googermolen.

Kaag & Braassem has 20 working Windmills. The list on the Dutch-language page indicates which windmills are open on May 9 and/or 10.
