The Kaag Route
The Kaag Route
Kagerplassen and Braassemermeer are natural lakes, as can be seen in the whimsical shape and jagged shores. This is in contrast to many other lakes in the Groene Hart, which were created by the excavation of peat. In the past, numerous windmills were built to drain all of this water, some of which still fill the horizon. The historical city of Leiden has been included in this route.
