​Cycling around Kaag en Braassem is a real voyage of discovery through an authentic Dutch polder landscape via characteristic Dutch villages.

There are a lot of farm shops to visit in Kaag & Braassem. As we are curious about them and where to find them, our editor Alice got on her bike herself. Together with her husband, she is in for a nice surprise. They cycled to Woubrugge, Hoogmade and Roelofarendsveen and discovered lots of delicacies from the region.

​This varied cycling route does not only lead you through the villages around Kaag & Braassem and Braassemermeer, but also through the historic inner city of Leiden.

Rondom Kaas & Braassem wants to stimulate young and old to hit the road and look for local produce, because cheese from the area taste absolute best, of course.

An enjoyable bike ride of about twenty-five kilometers normally wouldn't take an entire day. If you come across four ferries along the way, it may very well be. One huge advantage: time-consuming suddenly becomes tranquil, taking your bike across the water... In Kaag & Braassem, many people take it for granted, even for the locals it remains special!
