Mills and More Walking Route

The Mills and More walking route will take you alongside 10 mills, the beautiful polder landscape and various sights, sidewalk café’s and selling point where you can buy local produce in and around Kaag & Braassem. In the distance you’ll see five more mills, which makes it a total of fifteen mills.

A delightful tour and enjoying the most beautiful spot the region has to offer. Kaag & Braassem is situated in the Green Heart and you’ll notice that during the walking tour. Wide green fields, birdsong and the most beautiful mills complementing the landscape, which all gives it a unique character. Come and discover it for yourself and walk alongside Mills and More!

How does it work

For this walking tour, we have outline a route for you. You can start at any point of the route. A whopping 10 mills can be discovered during this tour. Take a good look around you, not all mills are directly alongside the route. The full route is around 11 kilometres.

Visit a mill

Miller are very proud about their mill and like to tell you all about their mill and job. When the blades are rotating the miller is present and you can address him. Most of the millers work voluntarily and cannot always be present at their mill. At some of the mills there are information boards. We wish you lots of fun walking and mill spotting.

Please note

It’s partly an adventurous tour with climbing fences. So taking a stoller is not recommended (unless you take a little detour and walk alongside the N446). There is also a small part were dogs are not allowed, as there are cattle at some fields.
