Wijde Aa Route
Stroling along the shores of the ancient peat lake Wijde Aa.
Laarzenpad (the Wellies Trail)
The free Laarzenpad starts from Bezinningscentrum de Stal. The path is signposted and runs through the polder on Kaag Island. The name Laarzenpad means “Wellies Trail” – it is not just a quaint name, it is good advice.
Braassem Route
ANWB Walking route of 11.6 kilometers along the shores of the Braassem.
Mills and More Walking Route
The Mills and More walking route will take you alongside 10 mills, the beautiful polder landscape and various sights, sidewalk café’s and selling point where you can buy local produce in and around Kaag & Braassem. In the distance you’ll see five more mills, which makes it a total of fifteen mills.
Mills Route Rijpwetering and Braassemermeer
A gorgeous route from starting point De Veense Bukker, where you can treat yourself to coffee and cake. Via Rijpwetering you’ll walk right through the polder along the mills and back to Roelofarendsveen where you continue your walk along the banks of the Braassemermeer.

She is the best kept secret of Kaag en Braassem: The Veen mermaid.
Along historical places and object in Woubrugge and Hoogmade
This route is accompanied by a series of 20 information signs at the remarkable historical buildings, places and objects in Hoogmade and Woubrugge.
Mills, water and more Walking Route
For this walking tour, we’ve mapped out a route for you. You can start your route at any node number. No less than 14 mills can be discovered during this 17 kilometers long route.
Family Pathway Kaag
The Family Pathway Kaag is a 5 km long pathway through Buitenkaag and the picturesque Kaag Island. It will take you along the 20 most beautiful spots in the surroundings. Just crossing with the ferry from Buitenkaag to Kaag Island is a unique experience. Along the route you will come across a water play equipment, a birdwatching wall and a watchtower.
Monuments Route Kaag & Braassem
This cycling route (which you can walk too) is published as part of the Open Monuments Weekend 2020.
Walking Route Network Rijn and Veenstreek
The walking route network is a walking network of 450 kilometers walking pleasure for young and old.
Polder Path
Short walk where you can discover the various sides of Hoogmade: The polder landscape, the A4, the water and various restaurants. Highly recommended on a sunny day!
Aderoute
A delightful walk of 9 km which leads you through three villages.
Polders and Lakes Pathway
No were else in the Netherlands you can find more water than in this area. The multiple days Polders and Lakes Pathway is a 135 kilometers long walk and will lead you through the beautiful polder landscape. The route will take you along extensive lakes with wavy reed border, well organized tree nurseries, stately mills and picturesque villages.
